Bulletin

The Bulletin is the College's quarterly professional membership magazine. We cater for the interests of our diverse readership, provoking discussion and comment on topics that range across the 17 specialties of pathology.

The Bulletin is now fully digital, with improved accessibility and more interactive features.

Discover more about how to use the features of the Bulletin in our guides.

The January Bulletin highlights how disparities in gender-related healthcare can affect women. This issue explores women’s health with articles on iron deficiency in women, gender inequalities in kidney transplantation and safe transfusion in maternity.

The issue features updates from the College on the UK Standards for Microbiology Investigations (UK SMIs), the Pathology Portal, the new Learning Environment for Pathology Trainees and the College Medal recipients. You can also read articles on International Pathology Day and the work of the College in South East Asia.

In his first editorial as College President, Dr Bernie Croal confronts the challenges facing pathology: workforce planning, care backlogs and funding. Dr Croal also welcomes the College’s new honorary officers and celebrates our members who received the King’s New Year Honours. Finally, the President gives updates on other College activities, including a new international memorandum of understanding, sustainability and digital pathology.

The College also welcomes its new Bulletin Editor, Professor Angharad Davies.
